Our Guided Cycling Experiences
Real stories from riders who discovered the joy of cycling on the Lough Derg Way
Spring Lough Derg Way Tour
Led a group of 12 riders aged 62-78 through the scenic 35km route from Ballina to Killaloe. The gentle pace, local knowledge of our guide, and carefully planned rest stops made it perfect for riders returning to cycling after a break. Participants covered the full distance comfortably over two days.
Pre-Tour Fitness Preparation
Developed an 8-week structured training programme for 9 riders who'd never cycled long distances before. Combined gentle stamina-building rides with bike handling skills and confidence-boosting techniques. All participants successfully completed their first multi-day tour with improved fitness and zero injuries.
Independent Explorer Package
Created a self-guided route package for 6 experienced riders who wanted flexibility without losing support. Provided detailed turn-by-turn maps, accommodation recommendations in Ballina and Killaloe, and a support hotline for unexpected issues. Riders completed the route independently while enjoying peace of mind.
Lough Derg Cycling Club Launch
Helped establish a local cycling group for active retirees in the Ballina area, now with 18 regular members. Organized monthly rides at a comfortable pace, social gatherings at local cafés, and knowledge-sharing sessions about bike maintenance. The club has created lasting friendships and encouraged others to return to cycling.
